Deck the Halls with Local Goodies: Christmas at White Row Farm

We know it seems to get earlier and earlier every year, but there's nothing like feeling prepared! And as usual here at White Row Farm, we've covered you in almost every department.

What’s Christmas without food?

At our family-run farm shop and café, Christmas isn’t just a time of year – it’s a season we prepare for with the same love and care we put into every homegrown carrot and homemade cake. We’re here to make your festive season a little brighter, a little warmer, and a lot more special. And let’s be honest, who doesn’t need a bit of that this time of year?

First things first: the vegetables. There’s nothing quite like knowing your Christmas dinner comes from just down the road, lovingly grown by your neighbours (that’s us!). Whether you’re after the perfect parsnips for roasting or brussel sprouts for the annual "one sprout challenge" (because no one really eats more than one, right?), we’ve got it all fresh, handpicked, and grown right here on our farm. Let our festive veg boxes bring farm-fresh magic to your table, packed with the finest homegrown and locally sourced produce. Our boxes are perfect for making your roast merry and bright. Call our farm shop on 01373 830798 before Sunday 15th December to order, or visit us to grab a ‘ready-to-go’ box and make your feast truly special!

Now, let’s talk about the real star of the show (aside from the sprouts): Our in-house butchers are working tirelessly this Christmas to prepare the finest home and locally reared meats for your festive table. From succulent joints to traditional favourites, they ensure every cut is crafted to perfection. Place your Christmas order by Saturday, 14th December, to make this season truly special.

We can’t forget our wonderful Deli team! From our homemade sweet and savoury treats to rich cheeses and pickles. Our Deli counter has it all! Make this Christmas less stressful with our fabulous selection of homemade pies, quiches and puddings! We’ve all been eyeing up the Baileys and chocolate cheesecake!

Festive Cafe treats

It’s coming back! Our Christmas Lunches. From the 2nd of December, Monday to Saturday, 12-3pm, we’ll be serving up our much loved Christmas lunches. Imagine sinking your teeth into a juicy English turkey breast, stuffing, pig in blanket, homemade cranberry sauce and all the trimmings or perhaps our date and cranberry lentil loaf with all the fixings, and homegrown veg. We’ve also crafted a selection of seasonal hot drinks – think Baileys hot chocolate, mulled cider, and our café favourite, a frothy gingerbread latte to warm you up on a crisp winter’s day.

New this year, our evening restaurant festive menu promises a delicious celebration of seasonal flavours. Start with dishes like home-cured gravlax of salmon served with pickled shallots, watercress, and a honey, dill, and grain mustard sauce, or pork terrine accompanied by pickled shallots, watercress, and apple chutney. For mains, indulge in thyme-roasted chicken breast, slow-cooked ox cheek in red wine, or roasted butternut squash with wild mushrooms and chestnuts. Our ever-popular grazing menu will also be available, offering something for everyone this festive season.

We know you’ve got a lot going on, so whether you’re stopping in for a long lunch with friends, a family party or just grabbing a quick cuppa, we’ll have a cosy corner and a warm welcome waiting for you. (Bookings and walk-ins welcome.)

Bows, bouquets and baubles

What’s Christmas without the perfect tree? Our locally grown Somerset spruces and firs are waiting to take pride of place in your living room. There’s something special about the smell of a real tree – it’s the scent of Christmas itself. Whether you’re a decorate the tree on December 1st, or before (There’s no judgement here!) or more of a last-minute, Christmas Eve dash, we’ve got a beautiful selection ready for you.

Once you’ve chosen your tree, why not wander through our gift shop? Whether you’re searching for something unique for that one family member who’s impossible to buy for (we all have one) or just treating yourself to some festive home décor, our shop is filled with handpicked treasures.

And, for that final festive flourish, don’t forget to visit our florist. From wreaths to table arrangements, we’ve got everything you need to deck your halls and make your home as festive as can be.

Let’s make this Christmas the best one yet!

After all, that’s what we’re here for.
